HMD Global, the Finnish company that owns the licensing rights of Nokia’s brand on mobile phones. It has officially announced details of its first Android smartphone Nokia 6 as it is called. which runs on Google’s latest Android like 7.0 Nougat. And Nokia 6 only be available in the Chinese market only on JD.com for approx Rs.17,000/-.
Today, HMD comes with the statement “The Nokia 6 marks the first step towards Nokia’s ambition to set a new standard in design, material quality. And manufacturing innovation across every tier of its products, by building on the hallmarks of a true Nokia phone experience,”.
Key confirmed specs of the Nokia 6 latest android smartphone from HMD Global include:
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 with X6 LTE modem
- 5.5-inch hybrid in-cell display with Full HD (1920×1080px) resolution and 2.5D Corning Glass
- Display polarise layer to improve screen clarity in direct sunlight
- 4 GB RAM
- 64 GB onboard storage
- 16MP rear camera with phase detection autofocus, LED flash and f/2.0 aperture
- 8MP front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture
- Dual-amplifiers with 6dB louder volume than a regular amp
- Dolby Atmos support for “powerful, moving audio”
- Android 7.0 Nougat
Although, HMD hasn’t yet published official photos of the device, but a video spotted on YouTube appears to show the Nokia 6 latest android smartphone from HMD Global in action. In addition, it shows including the front-facing fingerprint scanner previously rumoured. Therefore, watch the first look of the handset below.
Unfortunately, the Nokia 6 is targeted for Chinese users only. On top of that, international availability is yet to be announced. However, Nokia 6 won’t be the only smartphone coming out this year. Because there are more to announce. HMD is planning to launch as many as seven Nokia-branded Android handset this year.
In Conclusion, HMD Global only says that it will start selling Nokia 6 in early 2017 on JD.com. Because this phone is only for the China market at the moment.
