Yes, finally Apple unveiled its new era of iPhones, the iPhone 6s & iPhone 6s Plus at its San Francisco event.
Upgrade to hardware:
The iPhone 6s & iPhone 6s Plus looks identical to the iPhone 6 & iPhone 6 Plus, but there’s a lot more hardware upgrades made by Apple this time in its new iPhones. Mainly, you will get the new A9 processor with M9 coprocessor, which Apple claimed has a 70 percent faster CPU, as well as 90 percent GPU performance increase compare to A8 processor. The M9 coprocessor helps in maintaining certain apps in low power. Considering the connectivity, you will get LTE advanced technology, which is twice as fast as the current version because of 23 LTE bands. Capacity of Wi-Fi is also increased up to 866 Mbps.
Upgrade to software:
Apple introduced the 3D Touch feature, a new multi-touch functionality with two new gestures: Peek and Pop with new iOS. This feature comes lot more in handy when you want to quickly check your app. Let’s see, when you want to check mail updates just hold on to the mail app, and you can preview the contents of a mail without having to open it in another page. This feature allows users to quickly access certain portions of the app from the Home Screen instead of wading through various tabs on the app itself.
As for Pop, all you have to do is press harder on the app, link or message, allowing you to access the contents inside. You can also use this feature in games as well. A Demo showing Warhammer 40,000 Free blade puts you in control of a large mech robot. With 3D Touch, you can use the game’s targeting reticule to zoom in to fire on specific enemies with your arsenal.
Upgrade to Camera:
From now on, you will get 12 megapixels of rear camera giving more details to every photo. Apple believes it solved the problem of getting more megapixels at the expense of image quality with a method called deep-trench isolation, which separates the various photo diodes to get a better and more accurate color in each photo. At front, you will now get 5 megapixel camera featuring Retina Flash to improve the quality of images in terms of white balance and color and makes emit up to three times its current brightness to stimulate a camera flash on the front of the iPhone. And yes there’s Live photo too. It works like taking a regular photo, but a new icon (a layer of three rings) is active on the camera app. The result is a moving photo, triggered by pressing and holding the image. The camera takes an initial snapshot and records the next few seconds of both movement and sound. Live Photo is viewable on the MacBook, iPad and Apple Watch.
Apple iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus users will now be able to record 4K video. You can edit the videos on the phone itself as before. But depending on the apps you have installed on your phone and the length of 4K video you shoot, you might not be able to shoot long length videos in the storage space available.
Pricing and Releasing:
Pre-order starting on September 12 (Saturday). Full release coming on September 25. In terms of operating system, iOS 9 will be available on September 16.
