Yes, the question still remains the same for some people out in the world. After years of study related to the field of technology and its advantages. Even today, many people still raise this question, Is technology improving your health? If you ask me, my answer is and will be YES always. It does get benefit of using tech for your health, You heard it correctly, but with only one condition if you use it wisely.
Since the introduction of computers, we hear all the time from our parents or society about how technology is bad for us and one must avoid using, and this issue continue to grow with the advent of smartphones.
People like me working on Information Technology field have the same issues, we spend more time sitting at a desk than moving around at work. We have created this sedentary lifestyle that is causing havoc in our overall life.
What if I were to tell you there is a benefit of using tech for your health as well as for society? Would you believe me if I say that improving your health?
Most of you wouldn’t consider at first. Well, you may have different opinion, but your mind still on the side of all the negatives that so-called experts have shared in the past. The problem with such ‘experts’ is that they are only focused on the negatives. They haven’t looked at so many of the benefits.
I’m using technology to improve myself each day, taking help of all the means I can from the technology like computers, smartphones, wearable devices, the latest gym equipment’s and many more.
It Increases Awareness by using your smartphone wisely
First, constant access to information is right at your fingertip which has helped increase our awareness, specifically when it relates to health and well-being. With the help of smartphone apps, you can now find out how many calories are in your breakfast before you dive into it. And also gives you tips on exactly how exercise helps reduce stress. Second, connectivity. Technology from mobile devices and internet to instant communication has enabled sharing and access to important health-related information.
Look at my two-week calories trend, It helped me to build awareness so that I can take the steps to eat in right amount, prevent skipping meals and avoid poor choices that would deter my health. I would suggest HealthfyMe, to track your food, activities and weight on the go through their App which helps you to stay in track. There are many apps that can help you to do the same, use whichever is suitable to you.
Tracks Fitness on your wrist with wearable device
In this 21st century, there are so many devices and apps out now that helps you to track fitness and nutrition and Wearable technology has really spiked this trend. For example, Fitbit motivates you to reach your health and fitness goals by tracking your activity, exercise, sleep, weight and more. The device also provides reminders of when to wake up and connects the smartphone for notifications. Even devices you don’t even think about are tracking our health. You may not know it, but your iPhone is tracking how many steps you’ve taken.
Look at my weekly stats, contently achieving 10,000+ steps a day is beneficial even with sitting job throughout my career. Also, helps you to keep track of how many days you did exercise, how many hours you sleep and many more. Little investment towards your health is always worth investing and I would suggest you to use Fitbit, to track your steps and other activities. Again, There are many devices that can help you to do same, use whichever is suitable to you.
Provides Motivation by reading healthy habits from social media
At last, One aspect of trying to get healthy both mentally and physically is to stay motivated. Whether you’re going through an emotionally rough time or having a tough time trying to trim down, you can connect with others who have gone through the same struggles and made it, and use their stories as your motivation. I personally love reading a blog, following a healthy Instagram feeds, sharing a post on Twitter—technology has created an online community that can be used for the greater good—a support system for your personal quest for optimal health and fitness. So, just take benefit of using tech for your health.
Don’t just write technology off. This is something that really can improve our lives and our health. It just must be used in the right way, and that’s my answer to the question. Yes, Technology Improving your health day by day if you use it wisely.
